Travelling Film Southasia (TFSA) started with the first Film Southasia festival held in Kathmandu in September 1997. Since then, following each biennial ‘mother festival’, a selection of films is packaged and tours regionally and globally. Over the years the TFSA package has been screened in halls, cultural centres, classrooms and museums around the world. This mobile campaign to promote and popularise Southasian documentaries stops at more than 20 international venues between the parent FSA festivals that are held every two years in Kathmandu.
TFSA’22 Screenings
The TFSA package of 14 films put together after FSA’22 has been traveling around the world since FSA’22 in April, 2022. The films in the package have been screened around the globe, from Colombo to Helsinki and Windsor, Canada to Srinagar, Kashmir.

TFSA Screening in Mumbai

TFSA AT 15TH BENGALURU INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTVIAL

Ghar ka Pata (Home Address) was officially selected and screened at the 15th Bengaluru International Film Festival 2024.

At a hugely successful 3-day event titled Southasian Stories: Bridging Boundaries of Nations and Gender the Bangalore Film Society screened five TFSA films and held multiple panel discussions.
TFSA IN BIRATNAGAR
THE NORTH SOUTH COLLECTIVE, BIRATNAGAR
Nine TFSA films were screened in Biratnagar over a two day event held in partnership with the North South Collective. The event included discussions on the South Asian prospects for Nepali federalism in context of the Koshi province.

The Learning Hub College, Gujranwala
Following the success of the Lahore screenings we partnered with Olomopolo Media to organize one day of screening and discussions at The Learning Hub in Gujranwala.
Two films, Bani Singh's Taangh and Bishal Roka Magar's Lahureni were screened at the event.
TFSA IN CANADA
University of York & University of Windsor, ONtario
The University of York and the University of Windsor came together to organize weekly online screenings of all the 14 films in the TFSA package over two months.

The Asian University for Women screened all 14 films from the TFSA package during weekly screenings over a month and half in late 2023.
